WhatSpecification is an independent blogging and directory website, not a registered company. This notice explains information handled through the website. For privacy questions or requests, email info@whatspecification.com.

Listing suggestions and optional email

When you suggest an AI tool, software product, game or deal, we store the proposed name and website URL, optional description and contact email, relevant category, platform or offer details, review status and timestamps in our database. The website URL is normalized and its query string and fragment are removed before storage. We use these details to evaluate suggestions and maintain the directory. Providing an email address is optional; you can leave it blank.

Suggestions are reviewed before publication. Information about the suggested product or offer may be used in a public listing. Do not include sensitive personal information in submission fields.

Searches, comparisons and PC specifications

Search terms, filters, selected products or games and manually entered PC specifications can be included in page URLs and requests to the application. These URLs can remain in browser history and be visible to anyone you share them with. The PC checker processes the specifications you enter; it does not automatically scan your computer. Avoid entering private information into search or checker fields.

Hosting and operational logs

Hosting and infrastructure services process requests needed to deliver the website and may record network and request information in operational logs. Application errors may also be logged, and database errors can include submitted field details. This notice does not specify a fixed retention period for hosting logs or backups.

External artwork and provider links

Some product logos and artwork load directly from external providers. Your browser contacts those providers to load the images, which can disclose network and request information to them. Their handling of those requests follows their own practices.

Product, store and offer links take you to external websites with separate privacy policies. Accounts, purchases and payments on those websites are handled by the relevant provider.

Analytics, advertising and affiliate links

We do not currently use analytics, advertising or affiliate links. We will update this policy if we introduce them. This does not remove the request processing, operational logs or external image requests described above.

Retention and requests

Visitor listing submissions are currently retained in the database as submitted, subject to the URL normalization described above. There is no automatic deletion period or scheduled deletion process for these submissions.

To ask about information you submitted, request a correction or request deletion, email info@whatspecification.com with enough detail to locate the submission. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information. Any request will need to be assessed against the information we can identify and the requirements that apply to it.
