What is Aider?
Aider is a terminal coding assistant for developers working in an existing repository or starting a project. You select files, describe a change, and let a connected language model propose and apply edits. It can use hosted model services or a local model, so the model choice and its ability to produce reliable edits affect the result. Git integration records changes and makes them easier to inspect or undo during development. A repository map supplies context beyond the selected files, although very large repositories may need a narrower scope to keep responses useful.
