AI SOFTWARE PROFILE
Reflect Open
Local Markdown notes with linked ideas and optional AI assistance
THE OVERVIEW
What is Reflect Open?
Reflect Open is a note-taking app that keeps daily notes and linked ideas in local Markdown files, with an optional AI assistant. It suits readers who want to keep a personal research or meeting notebook while retaining control over the folder that holds their notes. Backlinks connect related entries, and users can choose iCloud Drive or Git for synchronization rather than treating cloud storage as inseparable from the editor. The AI tools can answer questions with links to source notes, summarize text, pull out meeting actions and help revise writing. Those features require the user’s own API key, and model or transcription usage is charged separately by the chosen provider. Mac access is free, while the iPhone and iPad apps use a paid subscription with local pricing shown on the App Store. The website continues to offer Reflect Classic separately, so old Classic subscription prices and its features should not be assumed to describe Open.
Reflect Open combines local Markdown notes and backlinks with optional AI questions, summaries and writing help. Mac is free; mobile subscriptions and AI provider usage are separate costs.
